Rarely have I been moved in a different direction by one book.

The different dimensions of this story stuck with me deeply. From the love story, the family matters, the immigrant trials, the existentialism, the artistry, the addiction, the poetry… There is so much breadth and depth in the theme that I was surprised that I could keep afloat.

I’m a developing reader, and this book is an anchor I will remember and look back on. It taught me a lot, both about its themes and about how complex and beautiful books can be.
