Shifting career and getting into writing is hard. Doing so during the everlasting dawn of large language models is an interesting choice.

It hovers my mind that this might be on paper a short-sighted decision. An unwise one to make this jump in an era where writing is delegated to tools.

Now more than ever, writing skills are not needed for those having access to the internet. What used to sometimes be a chore, can be solved by prompting a machine.

It felt uneasy. I often justified my choices by telling myself that technical writing, the one that needs to hold truth, is not replaceable yet. I’m realizing that repeating that to myself is a way to keep this door open. This door to keep on writing and making it an every day craft.

If I believe in the technology, I lose aspirations of the future I desire. The belief that writing will stay alive is ever so necessary.

And though I aspire to learn without a reason, learning as a career decision is good enough to keep myself going.
