watched
I’ve been watching some movies recently while leaving poorly written reviews.
If you see 5 movies watched on the same day it probably was a long flight, I’m not that silly, I think.
Tony, 2026

This was so charming, caught myself smiling and wishing to grow up to be somewhat of an Antonio Banderas, hopefully some day.
The Fall Guy, 2024
Mon, 17 Aug 2026
completely forgot I saw this!
turns out i'm a sucker for good stunts (shocker). actually had fun once i didn't try to pry too much into the story, because who cares.
any movie that can get Phil Collins stuck even more on a loop on my mind is a winner anyway.
Before Sunset, 2004
Fri, 7 Aug 2026
the last act and monologues in the car really got to me. I wasn't sure I would enjoy a continuation of the first one but this was so well done. happy.
Am I OK?, 2022
Fri, 7 Aug 2026
no clue why i watched this. why are they so rich and do fuck all. is this what life in LA is like ?
Moonlight, 2016
Fri, 7 Aug 2026
finally.
this was in my watchlist for a long time and I knew this would be something special. It only took the first scene for me to absolutely buy into wherever this took me.
The way this is shot, how we get the meet and develop connection with the characters, how the story is orchestrated, kept me mesmerized the whole way throughout.
Obsession, 2025

y'all should just have been friends and bring back the cat to play with but no, dude's gotta be a creep.
Before Sunrise, 1995
Tue, 4 Aug 2026
alright i get ittttt.
I don't know if I feel the pull to watch the other two just yet but this was very well made.
They look way too good for having had an all-nighter together, cinema magic.
Nomadland, 2020
Sun, 26 Jul 2026
Sour taste.
Larping as a poor person with a camera and staged scenes with real people is just ew.
Fuck the big actors just shoot a real documentary. Their stories are interesting and sadly tainted by this charade.
Lady Bird, 2017
Sun, 26 Jul 2026
I don't get the appeal, and that's because I am not born and raised in the USA, I think.
I enjoyed the pacing and the writing throughout, it was a pleasant watch, but I felt a thick distance to the characters and the story.
Only a few moments gripped me and made the experience worthwhile, but otherwise I guess it just ain't for me.
Meets the World, 2025
Sun, 19 Jul 2026
It was a rainy, rainy night and I had just missed the previous movie showing due to rush hour and surprising traffic in the Taipei Metro.
I yet decided to go for whatever was shown next, I was already looking to get pleasantly surprised anyway, might as well just go for another movie I didn't even know was even showing.
On the surface, Meets the World and its story is very approachable and quite fun to follow, yet its themes and plot lines stayed with me for a while and marinated into something pleasant to remember and ponder about.
Acceptance stands out as the biggest lesson of this movie, and ripples through my mind when I think about it.
Accepting to be helped and saved.
Accepting to let someone new enter your life and cheer up your views.
Accepting one's quirks, not hiding them to partners or family.
Accepting to have lost a connection, to a lover or a child.
Accepting that others won't change to be what we want them to be.
Accepting, and choosing to take a step forward, despite how much it hurts.
I'm happy I got to see this movie by chance.
The Invite, 2026
Fri, 17 Jul 2026
Just absolutely yes.
A play that's so tightly edited with sharp dialogues, it's fun, it's engaging and goes somewhere. I could've happily had another half hour of the second act but I totally get it, at some point you gotta stop laughing for a bit.
Made me happy.
Cure, 1997
Fri, 17 Jul 2026
I am so so so uncomfortable now.
There are so many things amazingly well done with this movie.
One thing blew me away way more than anything else, and it was the sounds. The repetitive, eerie, uneasy sound effects splattered all across this movie and balanced with the sharp silence in key moments. It kept me completely hooked and enhanced the experience so much more reaching near-nausea. To absolutely watch with headphones and a sound mind.
Elevator to the Gallows, 1958
Fri, 26 Jun 2026
Des dialogues et jeux d'acteurs qui parraissent parfois irréel avec un regard d'aujourd'hui mais qu'est-ce que c'est beau. Incroyable bande son improvisée et des passages mémorables, une histoire bien ficelée.
If Anything Happens I Love You, 2020
Sun, 14 Jun 2026
beautiful, sad.
but i so so wished it stopped before showing the flag. Everything was said and felt until then, the rest could've been inferred.
Instead, with its messaging getting heavier, it left an odd aftertaste.
Less would've been more.
Agatha's Almanac, 2025
Sun, 14 Jun 2026
A gloomy sunday turned dreamy, this documentary made me pause, enjoy the sight and the ramblings of Agatha. Sweet.
Sorry, Baby, 2025
Sun, 7 Jun 2026
Honest and important. Loud silences and beautiful acting. A film that makes you pause and hopefully sticks to your mind.
Aftersun, 2022
Fri, 22 May 2026
kinda destroyed me but i'll only fully understand why by sitting with it for some time.
No Other Choice, 2025
Fri, 17 Apr 2026
The story i think didn't gripped me as much as i thought it would, but the cinematography and humor are incredible throughout, as expected from the director to be fair.
The interior designs sets are continuously making me dream, I don't know why.
The Great Arch, 2025

Ça donne envie de marcher les mains dans le dos, et d'admirer des jointures.
Silver Linings Playbook, 2012
Fri, 17 Apr 2026
I had two and a half hours left on this already long enough 16 hours flight and wanted something light after a couple other movies. I was very tired but knew i couldn't sleep anymore.
I filtered the movies by Comedy and ended up seeing this one, I knew the name, and maybe the poster, but had no idea what was inside. Plus it's tagged as comedy, i needed a laugh.
I didn't really laugh.
I spent the majority of the movie wondering whether this was some kind of shutter island spiel. I kept on looking for something to come up and relieve the struggle of the protagonists.
It felt hard, but there must have been a reason they were all going through it, right ? Some kind of plot twist that could help a second viewing and make the movie somewhat genius ?
I kept on waiting for something, overanalyzing what was coming and not really appreciating what was presented for what it was.
The plane started its descent, that's when I realized that everything i saw was everything that was to take. No real second-order reading. No backstory to save them all from this mess.
It was a rough and pure struggle of a community dealing with mental health issues. I had played a trick on myself and made me really reconsider my approach to taking a movie as it is.
There were some really beautiful moments (some hard to watch and others less so), it was honest, and compassionate. In the end, it felt quite good to have experienced it.
I still wouldn't call it a Comedy though...
Project Hail Mary, 2026

The Fountain, 2006

Train Dreams, 2025
Mon, 2 Mar 2026
This review may contain spoilers.
watched on a seat-back entertainment admittedly i could have gotten more out of the visuals which were stunning throughout.
as far as the story and movie itself I'm a little bit underwhelmed, man has feelings man feels guilt man is sad widow man is getting old man has friends but man dies... okay. contemplative but didn't hit the right spot for me.
One Battle After Another, 2025
Mon, 2 Mar 2026
the first 90 minutes were so so good honestly, the last act felt a bit off-beat though it ties up everything in ways one would expect.
really really fun time.
A Ghost Story, 2017
Wed, 18 Feb 2026
i like slow and contemplative stuff so this was right up my alley.
made me sad at times and not so much at others. the story told is ultimately not the thing i'll remember, what stood out for me were the visuals and audio.
for the record i would never try to do a magic trick to kesha.
Old Joy, 2006

i can't suspend my disbelief so much god this was ass.
who wrote those dialogs, "you thinking about fooling around in cyberspace man?"
replying "have fun" to "may i use your bathroom" is insaaannooooo.
turbo lost it at the guy running down the stairs filling up his bowl of cereals tho.
Angel's Egg, 1985
Sun, 8 Feb 2026
This review may contain spoilers.
Absolutely filled with dread, my stomach dropped when she realized he broke the egg.
Obviously barely processing yet. Pure, hopeless and honest.
So much emotion absorbed through the overly long shots.
I can't see another shade of dark blue without thinking of this desolate unfair place.
Keep strength in believing that we can protect eggs, for we have lost the capacity to be angels.
5 Centimeters per Second, 2007

a visual delight and worth watching just for the set and decor. i enjoyed the proposal without really wanting to look into it much more otherwise.
It Was Just an Accident, 2025
Sun, 1 Feb 2026
Sure if you zoom out the message is a bit bland, but the execution was so good, loved the acting and the way this was shot, those loooooong scenes just make it so great+the comedy adds a lot, and that ending...
